COVID-19 UPDATE

Covid-19 has presented many challenges when it comes to making decisions for our own personal health and the safety of others. Because of these challenges, we have trusted and submitted to the governor's orders on masks and social distancing. We trust that Governor Ivey has done her own research and that she has sought professional counsel on what is best for the health of Alabama.

As many of you know, Governor Ivey has amended the Safer at Home Order to a new Safer Apart Order, which means that masks will no longer be mandated statewide, but individuals are strongly encouraged to wear a mask or other facial covering when in public and in close contact with other people

Because of this amendment, we cannot require anyone to wear a mask on Sunday mornings. But, in this new amendment, we are asked to do the following as a church:

  1. encourage the use of masks and facial covering;

  2. maintain six feet of separation between persons from different households;

  3. regularly disinfecting frequently used items and surfaces.

Since we believe the request of our governor here is in accord with God’s command to love our neighbor as ourself, we will continue to submit to the request of our governing authorities by doing the following:

  1. asking, but not requiring, you to wear a mask;

  2. continuing to separate our chairs six feet apart during service;

  3. continuing to sanitize after each service.
