1. Genesis 34 contains a lot of sinful actions (both obvious and subtle). What sins do you see throughout the chapter, and how do those sins seem to compound one another?

2. Jacob’s sons were angry over what happened to Dinah. Their anger was understandable, but their response was sinful. What does this teach us about the difference between righteous anger and sinful retaliation?

3. God is not mentioned by name anywhere in Genesis 34. What encouragement can we take from that as we read a chapter filled with human sin and brokenness?

4. How does the broader story of Genesis remind us that human sin does not derail God’s purposes?

5. If you had to summarize the warning of Genesis 34 in one sentence for a Christian today, what would you say?
